The Hairy Helmet Relay – A 4 stage relay held in Darley Park Derby.
A social event for everyone to take part in.

This a race for all the family. 1 lap or 2 laps, run or walk, fancy dress or not it is entirely up to you. This is all about the taking part and encouraging everyone to have a go. Everyone gets a prize at the end.
You start at the beginning of the race and run until the last person is over the finish line. The goal is to complete as many laps as you can in this time. The race is normally on for about an hour and a half hence 90 minutes!
A 2 and a bit mile 4 stage relay everyone runs one lap and then receives a drink of their choice. Come with your mates, your club, your family, in fancy dress it’s up to you no rules other than come and enjoy yourself.

The Hairy Helmet Relay is a firm favourite in the Derby running calendar. It attracts 250 teams at its June event which consists of teams of 4 each completing a 2 and a bit mile loop of Darley Park where in return they are provided with a tasty refreshment from either Derventio Brewery, White Peak Distillery or Darley Abbey Cider Company (soft drinks are available too!)

Race Numbers/Pins/Drinks tokens will be handed out at registration
Changing and toilet facilities are available sadly no bag storage available but that is what team mates are for!
